In this tutorial, we will go over how to play summoning decks via Echo of Newt Scamander. This guide is good for new players as summoning decks are easy to play and you will not be overwhelmed with what you need to do in battle.

In the beginning of the game, I like to play summon cards. It is a lot of fun, easy to understand, and great for beginners. Let’s get started.

The Newt deck is a well-liked deck in the game Harry Potter: Magic Awakened. It is inspired by the character Newt Scamander from the Fantastic Beasts series. This deck includes creatures and spells that Newt uses in the movies.

To create a Newt deck, you should concentrate on selecting creatures and spells that are closely linked to Newt.

In my deck, I have several cards with specific purposes. I will break down the cards that I use to give you a good idea how to play it.

Newt Deck Card Recommendations

Fwoopers will automatically hover around opponents, dealing sustained Damage while inflicting Fear. Fwooper is a good counter against other summon decks.

The Monster Book of Monsters charges forward, knocking back the first opponent it hits. It is great against Niffler.

Next, we have the Niffler, which is a good summon card that gives you extra MP over time, allowing you to spam more cards quickly.

The Baby Antipodean Opaleye is an aerial unit. Units that lack anti-aerial capabilities have no way to stop it. He does good AoE damage and can kill many units at the same time. He is also a good tank against spell decks.

The Centaur card can be a temporary replacement if you haven’t obtained this card yet.

Summons an Ashwinder to assist you in combat. While the Ashwinder is active, it will Summon a smaller Ashwinder whenever you cast a Spell or Summon. The small ashwinder does AoE and can potentially kill smaller summon units.

Multiple low-damage attacks are not effective against a Matagot, as the attacks will only cause it to split into smaller Matagots. Great card for stalling and distracting enemies.

incendio

While Incendio is best used with Control Cards to ensure maximum impact. In this case, it is a useful mid-range spell that can finish off enemies or deal with bigger units like Opaleye.

Bomb box is also a requirement for this deck. You need to play this card as your units can transport the bomb and is also your main source of DPS.

In terms of companions, Cassandra provides protection on the backside of the board, preventing enemies from reaching it in case they play Ivy.

Malefoy Gang and Grawp are my personal choices, but you can also use the Twins or Hagrid.

Battle Guide

When it comes to the actual battle, it is important to consider your opponent’s cards and timing when playing your own cards. Keep an eye on when they might play their companions.

Facing defensive decks can be challenging, but it’s crucial to prioritize eliminating key cards like Kevin that gives him stronger attacks. It’s all about managing your MP and spamming when necessary to create opportunities.

You don’t want to always spend all your MP. You want to figure out when the opponent’s next companion is. If your opponent is going to play his companion in the next 20-30 seconds, then you can use all your MP.

If you have higher card levels than your opponent, you will always have an advantage and vice versa.

When constructing a deck in Harry Potter: Magic Awakened, it’s crucial to take into account the strengths and weaknesses of each card.

Additionally, you should consider how their cards complement each other and strategize on how to utilize them effectively to secure victory in the game.

A well-rounded summoning deck should include a combination of many creatures, a few spells or support cards. Lastly, players are encouraged to experiment with various deck combinations and strategies to discover the approach that suits them best.
