Welcome to the simple guide on how to create a article for your website using the wonderful Chat GPT AI. Do keep in mind that it is not a copy paste job and it still requires some brain storming and editing to complete the article for reading while providing value for the user.
You will also want to at least be knowledgable about the subject at hand in order to do this. Otherwise, there is no way to check if the information is correct or you will have to spend more time on researching on Google.
Step 1: Find Your Main Topic
To find your topic, you can ask Chat GPT to give you some ideas by using the following prompts:
- brainstorm [insert number] topics for [insert subject]
For example, we will go with one of the articles I wrote for my other website GachaX: “Fun Casual Games Like Goddess of Victory: Nikke”. Since I already know the games that are similar in style to this particular game as I work in this field, I will skip this step. However, I needed some ideas, this is the prompt I would use:
- brainstorm 5 idle afk games for mobile devices
If you are not quite happy with the topic ideas, you can always ask it to give you more ideas, or expand on any topic idea by prompting it “please provide 10 more”.
Now you will paste each of the games you want on your Google Docs. The reason why you do this is to avoid clutter and confusing the AI later on. Organize them properly to proceed to the next step.
Step 2: Creating Content For Each Section
Since I am happy with the output of the ideas. I will now prompt Chat GPT to:
- Write a 200 word article for [insert game name] using [insert style]
In this case, I would use the “gamer” style. To keep consistency in your writing, you want to use this style of prompt to get the best results. You will want to rinse and repeat for all the 5 games. If you want something more specific, you have to use additional prompts of a specific writer. For example:
- Write a 200 word article for [insert game name] using “gamer style”, with the personality of Gameranx, adding some humor as well
Here is what Chat GPT added with some humor:
But as you earn more cash, you’ll be able to upgrade your equipment and hire more miners to extract more resources, and before you know it, you’ll be swimming in cash and diamonds like Scrooge McDuck in a money bin.
This will help as it is a more engaging style of writing.
Step 3: Fact Check and Tweaking
Now that the article is written, it is time to do some editing to make it into your own. Most of the content is going over the general stuff. Editing and making it with your own touch will make the article better.
Aside from editing, I will also add a few relevant images for each game and also YouTube videos showcasing the gameplay. This helps with the reader being able to see how it all works. Sometimes, the game written could also not exist as they have already shut down. So that is something Chat GPT can’t do.
Also, feel free to delete parts where it does not make sense or sounds to redundant. I generally do not include any “conclusion” type sentences as it is mostly fluff. However, that is up for you to decided.
For example, I will exclude something like this:
Overall, “Idle Theme Park Tycoon” is a great choice for those looking for a fun and engaging idle game. It’s easy to pick up and play, but it offers a lot of depth and many options to explore. If you’re looking for a game that lets you build and manage your own virtual theme park, then “Idle Theme Park Tycoon” is definitely the game for you.
Since the intro already talks about it, these are just filler words that waste the reader’s time.
Step 4: Publish With a Nice Thumbnail
Once I have formatted the article to my liking, I will go to canva.com to make a thumbnail. My website uses the aspect ratio 4:3, so I pick YouTube thumbnail as my template. They also have a lot of pre-made templates that you can use.
Generally these thumbnails are quite catching and I like using it with my own image on there. I would remove their image (since they have Canva watermark) and use an AI generated gaming character to capture attention. Here is an example I did:
Since this character is not popular and unique since it is generated by AI from Midjourney, it will capture more attention. You can tweak it to your own design standards. I am by no means an expert on this, but I do what I need to get the job done. With AI images generated by myself, copyright is not going to be an issue.
Alternatively, you can just use default images. In the past, I have used plain images as the thumbnail and it works just fine. I was still able to generate traffic which I attached a screenshot of. This site was built since March 2022 and we were able to capture over 600,000+ users.
Conclusion
The whole point of writing the article is to create engaging content that people find value in. Whether it is AI written human written, it shouldn’t matter much. I have attached the link to the document written by Chat GPT with the proper format in Google Docs. You can check it as reference if you would like.
